Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Manufacturing, this position is accountable for directing and supervising the manufacturing operations at the plant from receipt of materials through shipping, utilizing the facilities, equipment, and personnel to achieve the highest level of production of products while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality at the lowest possible cost.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CONTECH’s policies, values and strategies. Ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect providing an environment for success. Clearly communicates expectations and accountabilities for performance helping employees see the link between individual performance and department/company achievement of its strategic plan.  Recognizes and rewards good performance and gives regular feedback.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs and is responsible for 2 – 10 employees.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes and production equipment. 
  • Maintains a thorough up‑to‑date knowledge of specifications required by the customers and government agencies. 
  • Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of ICC and D.O.T. regulations.
  • Provides daily direction to staff functions, including production scheduling, inventory, order processing and transportation.
  • Supervises one or more of the following:  Foreman, Working Leader, Plant Clerks, Production Planner and Expediter/Scheduler.  Directs activities pertaining to the all production operation
  • Resolves major problems in scheduling changes, equipment utilization, and personnel requirements.
  • Coordinates directly with internal and external Customers, including Customer Solutions and Sales personnel with regard to orders, routings, specifications, pricing, shipping, etc. to ensure high quality products consistent with profit goals and strategies.
  • Develops and maintains high plant standards of safety and working conditions to provide maximum protection for the employees and equipment.  Provides sustained leadership to all employees in administering an effective APF Program. Enforces the PPE requirement with anyone entering the property. Educates all Employees to the CONTECH safety procedures including monthly safety meetings, safety postings, safety audits and on-line training.
  • Ensures that all products manufactured or distributed are of the highest quality and meet the applicable specifications. All quality procedures are followed and recorded with accordance with our policy.
  • Maintains a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction including a 98% on time delivery performance.
  • Analyzes and evaluates monthly metrics regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory. Develops and initiates corrective actions to course correct toward Company goals.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels to support the local market. Work with corporate inventory annalists to adjust as necessary. Identifies OSMI and develops and initiates corrective actions to course correct toward Company goals.
  • Develops and maintains an effective, unified, and loyal organization.  Provides leadership and direction to all employees.  Selects, develops and appraises personnel to assure a technically competent and highly motivated organization.  Maintains good employee relations.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the CONTECH Employee Handbook and administers and communicates Human Resources and organizational programs and policies.
  • Under established guidelines, implements CONTECH’s EEO Policy and administers the plant’s Affirmative Action Program.

Qualifications

  •    3+ years experience in a technical or supervisory capacity
  •     4 year/Bachelors degree  or technical degree; Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
