Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an Operations Clerk to join our Shakopee team.   Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Operations Clerk provides daily administrative and customer service support in support of all plant functions.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares invoices by verifying that all material shipped is accurately recorded and calculated and checking the order for special freight charges, customer requests, order changes, and tax exemptions.
  • Support Accounts Payable/Receivable department.
  • Receives customer orders or order write-ups, checks credit, assigns plant and sales numbers, verifies that all extensions and other pertinent information necessary to prepare acknowledgment is available and accurate, completes form and distributes.
  • Prepares bills of lading, correlates bills with packing list, checking for duplications or shortages of quantities shipped against original order, prepares state certification if required, notifies customer of impending shipment and distributes.
  • Prepares various reports as required by compiling appropriate data on tonnage, inventory, and various operations.
  • Answers, screens, and handles phone calls as appropriate.
  • Receives invoices, checks for accuracy, assigns proper coding, types and distributes drafts, and maintains draft log.
  • Performs general customer service functions such as handling customer inquiries, walk-ins and order changes and checking on schedules.
  • Maintains hourly personnel files, EEO and OSHA report files in an up-to-date manner.
  • Performs various office duties such as typing, preparing purchase orders, maintaining various files, mail processing, maintaining supplies, making travel arrangements, and other miscellaneous duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Prepares receiving reports.
  • Prepares week ending and month ending reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience with accounts payable/receivable strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing demands.
  • Attention to detail and organization skills required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong math and filing/ administrative ability
