Scheduler/Expediter

Job Summary

The Scheduler/Expediter expedites the production and shipping of Contech products to customers and other Contech plants/yards under the direction of the Plant Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plans daily loading schedules on trucks.  Designs flatbed loads to obtain maximum efficiency while ensuring load designs are safe and meet Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Obtains lowest cost when procuring outside carrier.  Makes load sheets for QC and Material Handlers
• Coordinates deliveries directly with customers and alerts upon completion of customer pickup orders. Expedites when necessary.
• Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory levels including raw materials to service all customer needs while meeting company inventory goals.
• Prepares various inventory and production reports as required.
• Corresponds with other Contech plants concerning interplant transfer of materials. Treats interplant transfer of product the same as customer needs.
• Assists Plant Manager in daily and monthly duties including but not limited to; all safety standards, physical inventory and monitoring of organizational policies and procedures.
• Works with multiple software systems (JDE, MS Office, McCleod, etc.)
• Charges raw materials for Work Orders
• Other duties assigned

Minimum Education

Required minimum education:    High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education:    2 Year / Associate Degree

• Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Qualifications

• 1 year scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
• Critical thinking and math skills
• Basic Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Solid communication skills and extensive customer service expertise
• Broad knowledge of loading and shipping procedures, production schedules, plant products, inventory control and some reading of shop drawings
