Job Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is the central resource for customer support and manages all aspects of the StormFilter Cartridge Exchange order process between quote and delivery.  The ISR is the primary point of contact for customers, engineers and municipal contacts seeking support related to the long-term maintenance of our stormwater treatment products.  The Maintenance support team is a small but integral part of our operation, providing support and training to internal and external customers alike.  Occasional overnight travel is required, as team members spend about 10% of their time visiting maintenance projects in the field to ensure their technical expertise is current and relevant. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary inside point of contact for customers buying replacement filter cartridges, from quote through delivery.
  • Serves as the regionalized resource for information and technical problem-solving as well as corporate, operations and field personnel.
  • Directly facilitate customer requests for pricing, quote, freight and scope of work deliverables associated with the cartridge exchange program, replacement parts and all other products in assigned territory.
  • Process orders, provide product submittals, drawing and down payment confirmation, and assist with problem-resolution and receivables.
  • Presents training material to small and medium size groups in person and via webinar.
  • Coordinate with all necessary internal customers including, but not limited to, Solutions Department, Sales, Field Marketing, Manufacturing, Credit, and Operations.
  • Accurately quotes and coordinates delivery and return freight associated with the cartridge exchange program.
  • Follow-up on quotations to close orders.
  • Maintain project records, documentation and data in Merlin (CRM) and Microsoft Access database.
  • Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with all team members including but not limited to Sales Engineers, PC’s, Specialists, Industry Partners and CSC’s.  Participates in defining the best approach to marketing, promotion and sale of all Contech products.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of products sold in assigned market, processes and policies to support and exceed customer requirements and expectations.
  • Effectively utilizes technology and process to drive efficiency.
  • Familiar, or becomes familiar with, the manufacturing process and plant capabilities for stormwater products.
  • Resolves inquiries on errors relating to invoicing, pricing or incorrect shipments and escalates as necessary.
  • Ensures company and product policies and procedures are followed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follows process and procedures to produce repeatable, consistent, and measurable outcomes.
  • Qualifies and Generates leads through web searches, search engines and cold calling prospective and existing customers
  • Other duties assigned.


Minimum Education

Required minimum education:    4 Year / Bachelor's Degree

Required Major/Focus:  Business or Related Major

  • Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.




  • 4 years of related experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial or engineering customer service, stormwater facility inspection, order entry and sales or bachelor’s degree in related field or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization providing courteous, timely and accurate information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated analytical competencies in basic math skills. Technical aptitude with respect to civil site plans and specifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems involving several variables while operating in a dynamic, fluid, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize situations requiring urgent attention is critical. Time management and organization skills are required.
  • Requires ability to read and comprehend documents including customer orders, price lists, training and procedural manuals.
  • Demonstrated competencies in computer software (MS Office (Access and Excel), CRM Database).
  • Experience in construction, product sales, or manufacturing in an inside or outside sales role a plus. Prior customer support on complex products preferred.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new concepts, processes and product information.
  • Ability to travel overnight, up to 10% of the time.
