Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Tech to join our manufacturing team in Montgomery, AL. This is a full time employment opportunity offering competitive pay, benefits and PTO during the first year of employment.

Job Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for providing the technical expertise needed for timely recovery from equipment outages as well as identifying long term solutions to minimize future outages.  The technician will be required to provide prompt response to remotely analyze equipment malfunctions as well as coordinate repairs and participate on-site when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the Contech Plastics Manufacturing to address technical problems that include root cause analysis, being a liaison between plants and suppliers to identify and resolve equipment issues with long term solutions that are sustainable.
• Develop and maintain a common technical library of electrical and mechanical drawings, programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) programs, etc. related to the manufacturing equipment located at all locations.
• Identify timely and cost-effective solutions for replacement of obsolete components.
• Manage, maintain and improve remote interface capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Required minimum education:  Post-Secondary

  Required Major/Focus:  Industrial Maintenance/Electrical    

  Preferred Education: Associate Degree

  Preferred Major/Focus: Electro-Mechanical Technology / Engineering Technology/Electrical Technology

  ☒ Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Licensure/Certifications

Required:  Technical Certification/NFPA 70E

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or Similar in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude. 
• Must be proficient in analyzing hard-wired relay control systems as well as modern programmable logic controllers.
• Must be able to safely evaluate alternating current and direct current systems up to 480 volts.
• Must have strong computer skills and be able to understand and adapt to different types of programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) software. 
• Hands-on approach to job task to include seeking additional information on the task as required.
• Must be a self-starter and able to execute job tasks with limited supervision.  Motivated to identify root cause and long-term solutions.
• Able to travel as much as 40% of the time.

Preferred:

• Proficient in evaluating hydraulic systems.
